There’s no better way to mark the start of a new year than with a bountiful feast—an inherent sense of exhilaration always accompanies fine food and wine. This principal is known to Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse, an authentic churrascaria on Westheimer Road famous for its flavorful flame-roasted meats and opulent salad bar. On January 15 at 7 pm, Chama Gaúcha is hosting a five-course wine dinner in their private dining room, and it promises to be a meal to remember.
Five delicious wines, from champagne to merlot to icewine, are paired with classics from the Chama Gaúcha menu. Guests can choose between charcuterie or ceviche to awaken their palates, before progressing to a salad course and USDA Prime Cuts of picanha, fraldinha, filet mignon, or ribeye. Dessert options include papaya or strawberry cream, cheesecake, tres leches, crème brûlée, and flan.
A certified sommelier will be available to answer questions about the wine; Chama Gaúcha’s team of gaucho servers will greet diners with savory pão de queijo cheese bread, carve skewers of meat table-side, and offer small samples of additional cuts throughout the meal.
Reservations are $85 per person, plus tax and an 18% gratuity, and can be made by calling the restaurant at (713) 244-9500. A $25 deposit is required upon making reservations; the deposit is fully refundable with a 48-hour cancellation notice.
For an additional charge, guests can savor after-dinner drinks, conversation, and premium cigars around a fire pit on the lush Chama Gaúcha outdoor patio.
