Chef Michael Mina and lifestyle expert Ayesha Curry recently brought their San-Francisco concept restaurant to CityCentre. Mina and Curry first opened International Smoke in San Francisco in 2017 featuring dishes from Mina’s and Curry’s travels and heritage. The San Francisco location was so popular that in just eight months, Mina and Curry opened its doors in Houston.
Mina and Curry hope to bring communities together based on a wide variety of food and beverage options. Chef Michael Mina is no stranger to creating beloved dishes. As the founder of the MINA Group in San Francisco, Chef Mina has received awards such as Bon Appétit Chef of the Year, Food Arts Silver Spoon Award Winner, San Francisco Magazine Chef of the Year. For Ayesha Curry, International Smoke allows her to combine her love for travel, cooking, and lifestyle to create the perfect experience for restaurant-goers. Ayesha Curry is a lifestyle expert and has written cookbooks, designed kitchenware, clothes, and home decor. Her lifestyle expertise combined with Chef Mina’s creations provide a unique dining experience.
International Smoke focuses on the many approaches to grilling, fire, and smoke with dishes from all over the world. As the title implies, this internationally-inspired menu takes visitors to Jamaica with the Jerk Spice-Seasoned Duck Wings to Japan with the Japanese Miso Ribs to Argentina with its Argentine ribeye. Visitors can choose from a broad selection of international favorites.
International Smoke’s visual experience was designed by Bishop Pass, a Los Angeles-based firm, known for creating spaces for the country’s top chefs. The 6,000 square foot space at CityCentre features an 130 person dining room with booths and intimate tables, elegant candle displays on the wall anchors, and two copper plated columns. The dining room glows with warm colors, while also appearing and feeling like a fireplace or grill. The restaurant also consists of a center bar for up to 20 guests with rounded leather bar stools and greenery.
Your experience at International Smoke will not be forgotten and that is not due only to the outstanding food and atmosphere but the hospitality and passion of the team. From Chef E.J Miller to servers, everyone is passionate about the food but also the team culture that Mina has strategically created.
The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Happy Hour happens Monday – Friday from 4 – 6 p.m!
