Roll into Spring at Discovery Green

in Things To Do by

The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green is back. Houston’s newest outdoor tradition returns tomorrow for its second season with a rollicking kickoff party hosted by Avenida Houston. Houston’s first outdoor roller rink delighted skaters of all ages last year, and it’s coming back with a new, improved skating surface, retro-fun colored lighting, and themed programming—including ‘80s and ‘90s throwback nights.

The season-opening party takes place from 5 till 10 p.m. on March 2, and will include live music from Skyrocket! the Band and a demo from Roller Derby Girls, alongside other entertainment.

Admission is $8 per person ($10 for a fast pass, available online), plus $4 for skate rental. Following Friday’s festivities, The Rink will be open through Sunday, March 25th for the hours listed below:

Mondays–Thursdays from 5 till 10 p.m.
Fridays from 5 till 11 p.m.
Saturdays and School Holidays (March 12-16) from 11 a.m. till 11 p.m.
Sundays from 11 a.m. till 9 p.m.
