One of the top outdoor fine arts festivals in the United States, Bayou City Art Festival, is happening October 13-14 near City Hall. The festival will transform Downtown Houston into a gallery, showcasing unique work by artists from all over the world.

Houstonians consider the Bayou City Art Festival a city-wide gathering, featuring one of the most attractive aspects of Houston: art. As Houston gears up for its 47th Annual Bayou City Art Festival, the Art Colony Association recently announced the festival’s featured artist, Chris Vance. Mr. Vance is a Mixed Media 2D artist from Bondurant, IA, known for his colorful pieces inspired by graffiti, cartoons, and more. For the festival, Vance unveiled a new piece inspired by Houston called “All Spaced Out” which showcases Houston’s colorful environment mixed with its diverse culture. Patrons can view Vance, along with 300 other artists from around the world, when they visit the arts festival.

The Bayou City Art Festival has been a staple in the Houston arts community for 47 years. The Art Colony Association has welcomed over 20,000 artists to display their work all over Downtown Houston, providing a unique arts experience for both visitors and native Houstonians. The festival in October will benefit local non-profits and offer food trucks, beverage stations, and live-music in front of City Hall. Children are invited to visit the Children’s Creative Zone, a place where children can participate in art activities.

Tickets online are $12 for adults and $5 for children 6 – 12; children five and under are free. Tickets at the gate are $15 for adults. Also available online are two-day passes for $20 and family passes (two adults, two children tickets) for $30. Discounted tickets for Veterans and Seniors will be available at the gate.
