A.D. Players at The George Theater is proud to kick off the holiday season with Miracle on 34th Street. This play is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit just in time for the holidays. The cast includes an incredible lineup of local Houston talent including Ruddy Cravens, Kedrick Brown and Courtney Lomelo. The plays director, Philip Hayes is thrilled to work with such a spectacular cast on one of the most unforgettable Christmas plays of all time.
Miracle on 34th Street, although premiering in 1947, has a truly timeless message for all modern audiences. The play displays how our troubles such as consumerism, job security, and general boredom of day to day life can lead us away from the important things of today, especially during the hectic holiday season. The play reminds us just how much faith and hope in things greater than ourselves can transform our perspectives and reverse the bitterness in our hearts.
As audiences follow Susan Walker’s journey to believe in the spirit of Christmas, they are once again reminded of the power of hope to change their perspective on life. In honor of this powerful lesson, A.D. Players at The Gorge have titled their season A Season of Hope. Make sure to catch one of these performances to be reminded of the Christmas spirit and its ability to give us childlike hope once again.
Miracle on 34th Street premiers at The George Theater on November 27th and runs Wednesdays-Sundays through December 29th. Tickets, ranging from $25-$75, can be purchased online or though The George Theater Box Office at (713) 526-2721.
