The 4th Anual Christmas Village at Bayou Bend kicked off recently and is bringing you holiday cheer until January 5th! Each year the Museum of Fine Arts Houston fills the 14-acre estate with a light trail, carolers, a hand-crafted model train, and festive activities, including a cotton snowball toss, reindeer games, and a 90-foot faux snow sledding slope! It wouldn’t be a holiday event with a photo opp and the Christmas Village doesn’t disappoint. Take those last minute holiday photos with Santa, Rudolph, and a giant sleigh!
Bayou Bend is the MFAH home for American decorative arts and paintings. The property was home of local philanthropist and art collector Ima Hogg (1882–1975), who donated her collection, historic home, and gardens to the MFAH in 1957. The museum is open year round and a real treasure and lush oasis in this big city.
Christmas Village will be running December 14, 2018, through January 5, 2019, and closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
Hours: Wednesday and Thursday: 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Friday and Saturday: 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
