Husband and wife duo Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen opened their first sandwich shop in downtown Los Angeles in 2005. 13 Celsius, which opened in 2016, by Ian Rosenberg and Michael Sammons, gives customers an authentic taste of small town Europe. The building’s unique architecture comes from the fact that it once was a Mediterranean – style 1920s dry cleaners shop. Since the inaugural event in 2003, Houston Restaurant Weeks has become the biggest fundraiser of its kind in the United States, raising over $14.7 million to date. Owners Xavier and Mari Godoy are high school sweethearts from Venezuela who have a love of international cuisine. After years of working in the Oil & Gas field in Houston, the couple had the idea to open a restaurant where people left saying “You know what? I felt like I went to a friend’s house and had the best meal ever.” In January 2019 Mastrantos, an intimate and contemporary restaurant with international cuisine was born.
