Despite thermometers indicating otherwise, it is officially fall! Because of the Houston heat, you will need transitional pieces that can be draped on or taken off when temperatures are sliding between 85 and 60 degrees. These pieces probably already have a place in your closet, so in that spirit, I’ve featured some wardrobe items from my own closet with suggestions on where you can shop around Houston to grab similar looks of your own! Here are three staples to keep close at hand as the seasons (slowly) turn.
Houston is the most diverse city in the United States, and proud of it.
Evidence of its rich culture abounds, making it one of the most exciting destinations in which to dine and shop. Furthermore, it’s a bustling scene for what’s next—creative new concepts favor Houston’s enthusiastic audience and strong economy, bringing new stars to a sky that’s shining brighter by the moment. One of the city’s latest and greatest style debuts? Collectivo.
It’s only natural that one of Houston’s favorite shopping destinations should spread its wings. Tootsies Takes Off landed last season in an annex right across from its flagship namesake in the beautiful West Ave development, just below Milk + Honey.
As you travel east on Westheimer from ritzy River Oaks into arty Montrose, you’ll find the street studded with shops: vintage boutiques, cafés, and antique stores adorn the sidewalk, like so many jewels on a bracelet. On weekends, the area is abuzz with shoppers and brunchers enjoying the sunshine as they browse from door to door.
Telling the time is no longer the sole function of a wristwatch. Today, one can navigate stormy seas, assess air currents, browse the web, send e-mails, and even juggle stock shares; the arrival of the smartwatch has revolutionized the luxury watch sector.
