Chama Gaúcha Ushers In Fall With October Wine Dinners

in Dining & Nightlife by

Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse, an acclaimed uptown eatery on Westheimer Road, is throwing open the doors to its swank private dining room for a pair of exclusive wine dinners this month.

Each five-course dinner will showcase popular dishes from the restaurant’s recently-launched lunch and dinner à la Carte menu, and both come in at a reasonable $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

The food at Chama Gaúcha is a given—locals know to expect excellence at every visit. But the headliner here is the wine, culled from the impressive Chama cellar. For each dinner, a certified sommelier will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the evening’s offerings, which will be organized around a loose theme.

On Wednesday, October 11th at 7 pm, that theme is California. Guests will be guided from a bright first course with ceviche and sparkling wine, through a flavorsome lamb-and-malbec pairing, and all the way to a sweet finish featuring Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port.

Two weeks later, on Wednesday October 25th at 7 pm, Chama is going international. A California sparkler retains the first position before giving way to a tour of reds and whites from vineyards in New Zealand, Argentina, and Portugal.

Space is limited to 50 settings per dinner, and reservations are required. Call (713) 244-9500 to take your place at the table.
