Cult Favorite Salad Chain Has Landed in Houston

in Dining & Nightlife by

sweetgreen, the national salad chain with a local footprint is serving up salads to Texans for the first time. The first location is in the always popular Rice Village Shopping district, with a second slated to open in Montrose this fall. In the past few years the healthy food scene in Houston has grown and the opening of sweetgreen gives you the perfect fast-casual option.

The cult following comes from their delicious and healthy warm bowls, salads, and seasonal options. Late summer salads include the Summer BBQ (Blackened chicken thighs, watermelon, raw corn, shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, cilantro, chopped romaine, shredded kale, green goddess ranch) and the Ratatouille Bowl (Blackened chicken thighs, roasted peppers + eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, basil, local feta, spicy sunflower seeds, warm quinoa, organic spinach, pesto vinaigrette).

You won’t find another restaurant of its type dedicated to locally sourced, sustainable, and good-for-you food. You can choose from one of the many pre-designed salads/bowls or build your own bowl of goodness, up to you! With 7 base options and over 24 toppings to choose from you are bound to join the bandwagon and be a sweetgreen fan for life.

Visit sweetgreen in the Rice Village Monday through Sunday 10:30 am – 10 pm.
