This week, downtown Houston is getting an exciting new addition. On Friday, celebrate the start of the weekend with a visit to the newest concept from bar expert Mike Raymond of Reserve 101, one of the best whiskey bars in the U.S. Along with international bar star Michael Neff and designer Greg Swanson, Raymond is launching The Cottonmouth Club, a come-one-come-all joint serving up world class cocktails and private barrel blended whiskey.

We’re creating a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests. The day The Cottonmouth Club opens, we will have an American blended whiskey ready for everybody to enjoy.

At The Cottonmouth Club, the feeling in the room is as important as the drink in your glass. Neff, who’s heading up the cocktail program, strongly believes that atmosphere is the first ingredient in a drink. “The idea is to make everybody feel welcome at The Cottonmouth Club,” Neff explains. As a result, the team has put special care into curating the experience of their space. As for the menu, guests can expect everything from twists on classics to exciting originals, like the Absinthe Frappe (blackberry, mint, absinthe, and Xtabentūn Bitters) and Baby Baby (gin, fresh lemon, strawberries, Peychaud’s Bitters, and bubbles).

Meanwhile, Raymond and Neff have developed a solid whiskey program, blending favorite expressions and aging them in bourbon barrels from Houston’s Yellow Rose distillery. “We’re creating a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests,” says Raymond. “The day The Cottonmouth Club opens, we will have an American blended whiskey ready for everybody to enjoy.”

The Cottonmouth Club is located at 108 Main St. in the historic Brewster Building and will officially debut on Friday the 13th. It will be open seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., with Happy Hour from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
