The Definitive Guide to Houston

Monkey’s Tail Bar Opens in North Houston

in Dining & Nightlife by

Located in the Lindale Park neighborhood, Monkey’s Tail was inspired by the nearby train station – a monkey’s tail is slang for the handle known to move the train tracks. The group of industry veterans that opened the bar combined their Mexican-American backgrounds to create a place where mid-century modern meets hole-in-the-wall vintage vibes. Filled with pool tables, lounge areas and a large dog-friendly patio it is bound to be the newest go-to neighborhood bar.

On the food menu, you can look forward to large New York style pizzas, Mexican dry rub wings, hot dogs and more. The Mexican heritage shines through in the cocktail menu where highlights include, 3 Milks (Rum, tres leches, pineapple, strawberry, cherry and nutmeg), Mama Coco (Charanda, coconut, passionfruit, cilantro and poppy seeds),  But Did You Die? (xicaru, aguardiente antioqueño, rum-fire, orgeat, lime, angostura bitters) and No… Pos Ta Cabron (west cork, greenbar grand hops liqueur, mango, piquin, chervil, orange, lime) which is served in a retro pouch.

Visit Monkey’s Tail Monday through Sunday from 11 am – 2 am.
