The Definitive Guide to Houston

You’ll Want to Spend Time at Montrose Cheese & Wine

in Dining & Nightlife by

The hospitality team behind Rosie Cannonball and Goodnight Charlies, Goodnight Hospitality, recently opened Montrose Cheese & Wine. Your, chic and curated, one-stop-shop for all things wine and cheese. Wine director Ryan Cooper has selected 125 wines to be carried that highlight organic, biodynamic and natural production wines from around the world. This may sound intimidating if you are not familiar with wine but Cooper made sure the selection “overdeliver for price point with a particularly strong selection for $40 or less.”

The cheese selection will focus on small producers and include a rotation 12-15 cheeses based on availability and seasonality — all chosen by Cheesemonger and general manager Shannon McCracken.

Inside you will find an intimate wine bar that wraps the spiral staircase connecting the wine cellar and wine bar, along with a coffee and pastry bar. The outdoor space is more of a courtyard than a patio with canopies and European style seating. So, no matter if your stopping in to pick up a gift, looking to try new wines or want to spend the afternoon sipping coffee there is a spot for you.

Visit Montrose Cheese & Wine Monday through Saturday 10 am – 8 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 8pm.
