The Definitive Guide to Houston

New Hotel Honors The Mother of Houston

in Hotels by

The landmark Allen Center, in downtown Houston, has been going through a complete renovation and re-identification thanks to Brookfield Properties. Anchoring the center will be the C.Baldwin Hotel, (formerly the DoubleTree Hilton) a luxury property that will embody everything modern day Houston has to offer. Named after Charlotte Baldwin Allen, known as the mother of Houston thanks to her generous donations that helped fund the city.

We felt it was high time to introduce a hospitality experience that would truly embody one of our country’s most evolving destinations while honoring an awe-inspiring female pioneer.

Maggie Rosa, General Manager

The 354-room hotel will be decorated in a stylish, modern manner. Think, warn leather, pops of emerald green, sleek marble, art from local photographers and a hint of mid-century modern. The suites are grand in accommodations without being intimidating or overwhelming.

The theme of being hyper-localized continues to the retail spaces within the hotel. Trendy and non-toxic nail salon, Palmoma, will be opening their third location in the C.Baldwin. And contemporary lifestyle store, Sloan/Hall, will be opening as the hotel’s in-house retail space.
