In response to the COVID-19 virus that is currently spreading throughout the world, The Westin Houston Medical Center has taken extensive measures to ensure the safety of all hotel guests by utilizing LightStrike™ Germ-Zapping Robots™ to sanitize all spaces of the hotel. These technologically advanced robots, provided by Xenex Disinfection Services, utilize a germicidal, broad spectrum UV light that is proven to quickly eliminate viruses, bacteria, and fungi. LightStrike robots are used at hundred of healthcare facilities across the country at which studies show a 50% – 100% reduction in the most prominent bacterial infections spread in hospitals.
The health and wellness of all hotel guests is at the core of The Westin’s business. The Westin is optimistic that these robots will help minimize risk associated with the spread of disease and create a well-prepared environment for guests.
In addition to the newly purchased robots, The Westin has also removed non-essential items in guest rooms, such as magazines and decorative pillows, in order to ensure a cleaner environment. All consumable amenities, such as toiletries and cups, will be disinfected on-site and placed in safe, sealed bags for guests to use.
The Westin has created a new immune boosting line of food and drink to ensure guests remain at their healthiest. This line includes ingredients filled with antioxidants, vitamins, and probiotics. New immune booster kits, which include tinctures and Airborne products, are also available to guests.
